Bella Culley, a pregnant British teenager jailed in Georgia for smuggling marijuana and hashish from Thailand, was freed on Monday under a plea agreement that sentenced her to the nearly six months she had already spent in jail.
Culley, who is from Teesside, in northeast England, was reported missing in Thailand prior to her arrest at the Tbilisi airport on May 10. The teenager pleaded not guilty to the charges after her arrest, saying she was tortured in Thailand and forced to carry the drugs.
Asked how she felt, Bella May Culley said she was "happy" and told reporters that she did not expect to be released.
