5 snap count takeaways from Jaguars' Week 9 win vs. Raiders
Hunter Long was the clear-cut TE2 in this game, laying 53 snaps to Johnny Mundt's 27. The RB2 role continues to be more of a shared role with LeQuint Allen playing 22 snaps and Bhayshul Tuten playing 20. The opponent and in-game situations dictate what that snap count distribution looks like on a weekly basis.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars will face Ashton Jeanty and the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 9 of the NFL season on Sunday.
LAS VEGAS — Cam Little of the Jacksonville Jaguars broke an NFL record by kicking a 68-yard field goal at the end of the first half against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. The Jaguars won 30-29 in overtime. Justin Tucker had the previous record, a 66-yarder in 2021 that gave the Baltimore Ravens a 19-17 win over the Detroit Lions.
Rookie first-round draft pick and two-way player Travis Hunter will not only miss the Jaguars' game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, but he will also be out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury. The Jaguars seem confident the injury won't end Hunter's season. Nonetheless, he's still going on injured reserve:
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is in concussion protocol, Houston coach DeMeco Ryans said one day after Stroud's head hit the ground hard during Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Denver Broncos. Ryans said Monday that Stroud was "feeling a little bit better" but he wasn't willing to forecast whether Stroud will be available for Sunday's home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The biggest difference for the Jacksonville Jaguars this season is that they’re scratching out victories instead of stumbling into losses.
Strange can return as early as the home game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Nov. 16. The Jaguars may also get linebacker Devin Lloyd (calf) back this week, but Coen said he would be cautious, citing a string of calf injuries Lloyd experienced while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year.
