The middle of America isn’t leaving its people behind either. Taco John’s, a chain that serves 22 states, has announced that they will offer a free Community Support Meal—a burrito and small side of tater tots—to anyone who asks during the weekend of October 31 to November 2.
Any family with SNAP benefits can "show a card and get as many free kids meals as needed," the restaurant owner wrote on social media.
As SNAP benefits will lapse for millions in November, several food delivery services are offering ways to get discounted groceries. Here are some options available.

Most food-distribution sites ask for a photo ID and proof of current address or residency in the service area but may assist even if you don’t have documentation. In the Chicagoland metro area, 12% of households receive SNAP benefits. That's more than 450,000 families. Of those households 42.1% include someone with a disability, 39.5% include an elderly person, and 46.3% have a minor. "I don't let them know that, like, oh, mommy's struggling to put food on the table for you guys," said Kelli Brinnehl.
The shelves are stocked at Gather Bakehouse in Bayview as the bakery prepares for the halt of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, otherwise known as SNAP, starting Nov. 1.
In addition to the giveaways, Suzie's Pizza, Carlo's Cuisine and Sweet Blessings will be offering a "Pay it Forward" board with pre-paid meals by community members.
