Last Friday, for only the second time this year, Virginia Tech both won an ACC contest and covered the spread. With that victory, the Hokies sit three wins away from snagging bowl eligiblity with four contests remaining. A loss to No. 16 Louisville today would remove the margin of error and necessitate Tech running the table after this week.
For about 30 minutes on Saturday afternoon, it looked like the Virginia Tech Hokies were about to win their second game in a row and move to 3-2 in ACC play. Unfortunately, a lopsided third quarter changed everything, and the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals (7-1, 4-1) came from behind to defeat the Hokies 28-16 (3-6, 2-3).
The No. 8 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets look to remain undefeated when they visit the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Only a quartet of contests remain for Virginia Tech football in its 2025 campaign. Through a turbulent campaign, the Hokies have notched three wins and will need to claim as many over the next month to qualify for a bowl game this season.
